Pedro Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Peter, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 14th match minute, Pucará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Orzaize to maneuver through the defense. After 16th play minutes Marcelino Peter shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Pedro Melo and just under the crossbar into goal. Marcelino Peter charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelino Peter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carnerito's Marcelino Peter got a free kick in the 19th minute. Desiderio Elorri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Albuquerque in the 20th minute of play. Pedro Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Maidana in the 22nd minute of the match. Pedro Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Chuse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Zé Carlos Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desiderio Elorri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albino Liher during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Carnerito fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Pucará. Zé Carlos Albuquerque stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Desiderio Elorri. 1-1. In the 40th minute of the match, Zé Carlos Albuquerque tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Desiderio Elorri saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maurício Carvalhos short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Desiderio Elorri to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Maurício Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelino Peter to strike the kick off in the second half. Godofredo Chuse's late challenge caught a Pucará's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Godofredo Chuse helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, Carnerito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godofredo Chuse to maneuver through the defense. Maurício Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desiderio Elorri having to interfere. Carnerito's Desiderio Elorri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Carvalho in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Pucará getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Carlos Acosta hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Carnerito's Omar Maidana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Melo. That made the score 2-2 after 73 minutes of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Maurício Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pucará's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Zé Carlos Albuquerque's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Desiderio Elorri was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Desiderio Elorri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Carvalho in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Hanot during the 83rd minute. The Pucará supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Carnerito's performance. The match ended with a win for Carnerito.
