Jaime Ramos came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Concordia Unido's Mauro Hegoi. But to his dismay, Mauro Hegoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Concordia Unido's Gonzalo Dolcet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Pasqual in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Concordia Unido's Bengt Billström got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Mauro Hegoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Mauro Hegoi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bengt Billström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Concordia Unido fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Concordia Unido's Mauro Hegoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 46 minutes into the match, Iron Maiden's goalkeeper Jaime Ramos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Saturnino Bento. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Concordia Unido's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Hegoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bengt Billström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jaime Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Hegoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The supporters of Concordia Unido booed when Iron Maiden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Roderigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mauro Hegoi came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Concordia Unido fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Hegoi couldn't finish the play. After having played for 76 minutes, Mauro Hegoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 89 played minutes Iron Maiden got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Artaldo. Bengt Billström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
