Hugo Eztebe might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esteve Boni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugo Eztebe ran back to his position shaking his head. 26 minutes into the game, Adan Birila lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Ernesto Dominix. When Adan Birila came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Atlético MarDelPlata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adan Birila couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Fermin Salvatore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fermin Salvatore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Esteve Boni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gauchos del Dot's Eduardo Olivar got a free kick in the 73rd minute. The attack was good, but when Adan Birila in the 79th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 80th match minute, Gauchos del Dot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Olivar to maneuver through the defense. Lisandro Manuelo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernesto Dominix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. If Lisandro Manuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Hugo Eztebe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteve Boni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
