After 8 played minutes CHICAGO FIRE got a freekick which was hit by Geronimo Beturian. Bernardino Salvidor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sebastian Havier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geronimo Beturian took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamim Fonseca. Benjamim Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Lorenzo Evarado might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamim Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Evarado ran back to his position shaking his head. Sebastian Havier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardino Salvidor, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, CHICAGO FIRE's Severino Bizen got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Bernardino Salvidor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matute.A .C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardino Salvidor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matute.A .C.'s goalkeeper Benjamim Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Severino Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Severino Bizen scored 0-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamim Fonseca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Matute.A .C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Playo came free, but Benjamim Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorenzo Evarado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Fonseca having to interfere. Mauro Ubarna was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in CHICAGO FIRE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Sebastian Havier, was totally fooled by Matute.A .C.'s Edelmiro Bixintxo, who 39 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Severino Bizen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Lorenzo Evarado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardino Salvidor was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of CHICAGO FIRE booed when Matute.A .C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Florin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, CHICAGO FIRE's Anastasio Aguirre got a free kick in the 65th minute. Yin Shi lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Matute.A .C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! Edgardo Sesuldo walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Matute.A .C.'s Benjamim Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Evarado in the 72nd minute of play. Anastasio Aguirre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Benjamim Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Vinicio Nesto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Playo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Fonseca having to interfere. In the 87th minute Lorenzo Evarado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaac Playo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Benjamim Fonseca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Inocencio Florin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edelmiro Bixintxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Havier having to interfere. The Matute.A .C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CHICAGO FIRE's performance. The match ended with a win for CHICAGO FIRE.
