ATENAS's Evaristo Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Quintyn in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of C.A. San Lorenzo booed when C.S y B. ATENAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Xacintu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Kinsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Tomás Osoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Salvador Tabby notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of C.A. San Lorenzo's Tomás Osoro. Tomás Osoro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ATENAS's Nicolas Kinsen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Osoro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A well placed Domingo Xacintu short distance shot in the 19th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Quintyn in the 24th minute of play forced C.S y B. ATENAS's goalkeeper Evaristo Cortez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas Kinsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Osoro made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Ciriaco Timo sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 38 minutes, Ciriaco Timo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S y B. ATENAS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciriaco Timo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guido Frascuelo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, C.S y B. ATENAS's Romulo Abascal tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. C.S y B. ATENAS were furious when Ruben Jaizki was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of C.S y B. ATENAS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.A. San Lorenzo:s goal. Evaristo Cortez had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Arnulfo Steven's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Kinsen was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. San Lorenzo's zone, Dante Sugoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Osoro came out of the goal and Dante Sugoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciriaco Timo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Tomás Osoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Osoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Tabby in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Tomás Osoro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Sugoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Sugoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Osoro having to interfere. If Ciriaco Timo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Romulo Joseph ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Osoro was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Tomás Osoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Tabby in the 89th minute of the match. Dante Sugoi struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. ATENAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Sugoi to maneuver through the defense. ATENAS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
