Marcial Ebardo took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benigno Felo. Benigno Felo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Eugenio Seme fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo's protests and gave Eugenio Seme a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Palermo defense, Marcial Ebardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benigno Felo. The Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benigno Felo should have stopped the shot. Benigno Felo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcial Ebardo's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Marcial Ebardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benigno Felo. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Ebardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Remigio Constancio got a free kick in the 45th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcial Ebardo in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benigno Felo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Palermo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chañarito:s goal. In the 59th minute, Marcial Ebardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Moises Uzuri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herminio Senin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute Herminio Senin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Felo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benigno Felo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Senin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Benvide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Natalio Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natalio Orlondon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Benvide, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. A collision led to Chañarito getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Aaron Foro hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Palermo's Haroldo Benvide sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natalio Orlondon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Aaron Foro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palermo's Benigno Felo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. The Chañarito supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chañarito would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
