Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Elpidio Steven got the match started through his kick off. Saul Castel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelo Erroman went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute Juan Manuel Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Castel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Veléz Sarsfield's corner Casimiro Esiquio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Saul Castel quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Manuel Martínez in the 15th minute of play forced OKTOBER 1979's goalkeeper Saul Castel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Juan Manuel Martínez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes OKTOBER 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Justo Medina. Elpidio Steven received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ereinotz Barrios came out and tried to block the shot, but Elpidio Steven slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Veléz Sarsfield's Sebastiano Martínez got a free kick in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Steven in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ereinotz Barrios prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Aimar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ereinotz Barrios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Veléz Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Angel Mel. A collision led to Veléz Sarsfield getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Angelo Erroman hit a great ball. Ereinotz Barrios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Steven in the 44th minute of play. Angelo Erroman took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saul Castel. Saul Castel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo Erroman to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, OKTOBER 1979's Lucio Lawrence nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ereinotz Barrios made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. After 57 played minutes OKTOBER 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Elpidio Steven. The supporters of OKTOBER 1979 booed when Veléz Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastiano Martínez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute Elpidio Steven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ereinotz Barrios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Steven in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ereinotz Barrios saved Veléz Sarsfield from getting behind. When Elpidio Steven came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the OKTOBER 1979 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Steven couldn't finish the play. Elpidio Steven scored 4-2 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ereinotz Barrios, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. OKTOBER 1979 had won after a very even match.
