Elias Bernat was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Anier Salamon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anier Salamon really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After 21 played minutes Jose María Jáuregui got a freekick which was hit by Iker Afonso. Benicio Osasun scored 1-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Netzer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jose María Jáuregui's Anier Salamon was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 31st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Christian Netzer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Osasun in the 35th minute of the match. Armandinho Cruz's late challenge caught a Jose María Jáuregui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armandinho Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lions FC's Armandinho Cruz got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute, Leonides Valery got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lions FC's Juan Policarpio got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Lions FC booed when Jose María Jáuregui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Ixaka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anier Salamon to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frédson Silva during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes Jose María Jáuregui got a freekick which was hit by Frédson Silva. In the 76th minute, Jose María Jáuregui's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Benicio Osasun fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Lions FC made a substitution. Uriel Orlo replaced Benicio Osasun. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Armandinho Cruz put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Christian Netzer. The Jose María Jáuregui fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lions FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
