River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabaleers the free kick. River Plate's Enzo Beltxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Naelio in the 10th minute of play. If Dino Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimiro Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dino Veiga struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Enzo Beltxe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabaleers. Vladimiro Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 19 minutes, Dino Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabaleers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Sabaleers booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Matro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enzo Beltxe came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sabaleers's Vladimiro Naelio. But to his dismay, Vladimiro Naelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Enzo Beltxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Naelio in the 26th minute of play. After 34 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Matro. Vladimiro Naelio scored 0-3 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo Beltxe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vladimiro Naelio was the one to do the kick off. If Dino Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Roman Caetano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Enzo Beltxe. The goal made the score 0-5. After 66 minutes, Gregorio Tab mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Sabaleers players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gregorio Tab hit a great ball. Vladimiro Naelio let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 67th minute shot 0-6 at rihgt post. Dino Veiga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Enzo Beltxe came out and tried to block the shot, but Dino Veiga slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 70th minute. Enzo Beltxe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dino Veiga in the 75th minute. Vladimiro Naelio might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enzo Beltxe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimiro Naelio ran back to his position shaking his head. Vladimiro Naelio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Beltxe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Caetano came free, but Enzo Beltxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Gregorio Tab managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregorio Tab was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Nahia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute, Gregorio Tab hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The River Plate fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sabaleers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
