In the 6th match minute, Els Moc Cules Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Vachon to maneuver through the defense. Victor Rufio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo da Fonseca in the 8th minute of the match. After 9 minutes, Anacleto Herensuge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Els Moc Cules Futbol Club and the River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Els Moc Cules Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Anacleto Herensuge. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Israel Pelayo hit a great ball. Els Moc Cules Futbol Club's Victor Rufio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo da Fonseca in the 12th minute of play. River Plate's Anselmo da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute Israel Pelayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Rufio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, River Plate's Anselmo da Fonseca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Rufio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Anacleto Herensuge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Els Moc Cules Futbol Club defense, Melquiades Cordaryal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Rufio. The Els Moc Cules Futbol Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Rufio should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute Israel Pelayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Rufio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Anselmo da Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Rufio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. River Plate's Artemio Bento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Frederico in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 58 played minutes Els Moc Cules Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Onofre. With a little luck, Els Moc Cules Futbol Club's Victor Rufio got control of the ball when Israel Pelayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Esteve Curcio made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by River Plate's Fernan Vitin. In the 63rd minute, Anselmo da Fonseca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Victor Rufio. The goal made the score 0-4. Victor Rufio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artemio Bento came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Els Moc Cules Futbol Club's Astor Frederico. But to his dismay, Astor Frederico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 74 minutes into the game, Bernardino Vachon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Artemio Bento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Els Moc Cules Futbol Club getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Amadeo Olo hit a great ball. Victor Rufio made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Israel Pelayo sent off a good shot on target. Cleto Onofre charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cleto Onofre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of River Plate booed when Els Moc Cules Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleto Onofre didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, River Plate's Victor Rufio threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anselmo da Fonseca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Israel Pelayo fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Israel Pelayo a yellow card for diving instead. Artemio Bento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Frederico in the 88th minute of play. When Israel Pelayo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Pelayo couldn't finish the play. Victor Rufio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo da Fonseca in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Matthew in the 94th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Artemio Bento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Damaso Matthew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Bento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The River Plate players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
