Edgar Falk was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 16thth minute of the game Hugo Rivero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maipú's Carmelo Maraman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Filomeno Gaur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carmelo Maraman. Maipú's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filomeno Gaur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Delmar Cai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th match minute, Mailín AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adan Etxepare to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Godfredo Ekain showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Maipú's Carmelo Maraman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Pelagius in the 58th minute of play. Delmar Cai might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godfredo Ekain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Delmar Cai ran back to his position shaking his head. 68 minutes into the game, Mailín AFC's Inocencio Sindo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carmelo Maraman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 72 minutes, Evelio Peru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maipú and the Mailín AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mailín AFC booed when Maipú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Peru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salvador Pelagius received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carmelo Maraman came out and tried to block the shot, but Salvador Pelagius slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 74th minute. In the 85th minute, Salvador Pelagius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Carmelo Maraman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 89th minute Salvador Pelagius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Maraman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Maipú's Evelio Peru got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Salvador Pelagius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmelo Maraman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mailín AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
