With 5 minutes on the clock, Bartolo Enol commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 12th minute, Eulalio Lehior hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Afonso Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia La Plata's protests and gave Afonso Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Piquete AFC booed when Gimnasia La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Arnaldo Urti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teo Soter showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tadeo Aimar kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Basilio Urtzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Teo Soter. Gimnasia La Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basilio Urtzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basilio Urtzi got free with Teo Soter in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 孟适天 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Sancho having to interfere. 孟适天 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Bartolo Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 孟适天 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Sancho having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Gimnasia La Plata's Lucio Jose María Chepchumba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bartolo Sancho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Sancho came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Gimnasia La Plata's 孟适天. But to his dismay, 孟适天 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Teo Soter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saverio Theodore in the 40th minute. When Lucio Jose María Chepchumba came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Gimnasia La Plata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucio Jose María Chepchumba couldn't finish the play. Gimnasia La Plata's Lucio Jose María Chepchumba got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Gimnasia La Plata's 孟适天 sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bartolo Sancho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucio Jose María Chepchumba made a kick off. Lucio Jose María Chepchumba hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Teo Soter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Filipo in the 53rd minute of the match. If Basilio Urtzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teo Soter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Filipo in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Piquete AFC's Saverio Theodore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teo Soter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Teo Soter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Filipo in the 66th minute of the match. Teo Soter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Filipo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes of play, Piquete AFC's Basilio Urtzi made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teo Soter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saverio Theodore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Soter having to interfere. A collision led to Gimnasia La Plata getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Tadeo Aimar hit a great ball. Bartolo Sancho made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when 孟适天 sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Saverio Theodore sped through Gimnasia La Plata's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Teo Soter. Lucio Jose María Chepchumba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Pascual Benvido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, one of Piquete AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Piquete AFC. In the 96th minute, Gimnasia La Plata got a penalty, and 孟适天 placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. The Piquete AFC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
