Benavides's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Jokin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesar Astigar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesar Astigar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Xabat in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, DPORTIVO ARTIGAS's Cesar Astigar got control of the ball when Godfredo Ponc tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Godfredo Ponc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Candido Xabat to make the kick off. Godfredo Ponc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Cesar Astigar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 55 minutes of play, Benavides's Candido Xabat made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesar Astigar was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 67 played minutes DPORTIVO ARTIGAS got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Llanos. When Nemesio Osmundo in the 71st play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Teo Pere kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 3-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Lisandro Hibai's late challenge caught a DPORTIVO ARTIGAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lisandro Hibai helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Benavides getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lisandro Hibai hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Nemesio Osmundo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Candido Xabat might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cesar Astigar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 84th minute, Candido Xabat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Benavides fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After having played for 92 minutes, Candido Xabat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benavides's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Xabat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venancio Oier charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Venancio Oier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Candido Xabat in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cesar Astigar saved DPORTIVO ARTIGAS from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saturnino Aureo during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 98 played minutes DPORTIVO ARTIGAS got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Aureo. Cesar Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Xabat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Benavides fans cheered their team off the field, for while DPORTIVO ARTIGAS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
