But to his dismay, Mauricio Bela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damian Bertran during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Damian Bertran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Ruben Mingo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Anibal Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, River Plate's Mauricio Bela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donald Owens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 36th minute, Anibal Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donald Owens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Bela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adan Mikelats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Mingo in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Paulino Boniel hit a great ball. Donald Owens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Endre Zádor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Mingo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adan Mikelats came out and tried to block the shot, but Ruben Mingo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 45th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mauricio Bela was the one to do the kick off. Serafino Eguzki charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafino Eguzki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rє∂ Dєνιℓѕ getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Serafino Eguzki hit a great ball. When Endre Zádor fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Endre Zádor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, Endre Zádor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acácio Amorim, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mauricio Bela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Donald Owens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anibal Ticho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donald Owens having to make a save. Delmiro Ascencio kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Rє∂ Dєνιℓѕ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Ascencio to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Mingo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Damian Bertran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Ismael Quinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Quinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Owens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anibal Ticho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donald Owens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. The Rє∂ Dєνιℓѕ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
