With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prudencio Mateo in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Duarte saved Banda Norte from getting behind. Francisco Duarte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Prudencio Mateo went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prudencio Mateo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Duarte saved Banda Norte from getting behind. Prudencio Mateo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 19th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 26th minute of the match Roman Uhin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Duarte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Prudencio Mateo might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francisco Duarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prudencio Mateo ran back to his position shaking his head. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Matambre FC's Prudencio Mateo in the 28th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Francisco Duarte was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Banda Norte through an amazing save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Desiderio Benvide during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Banda Norte! In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Matambre FC. Hilario Filipo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Francisco Duarte. 2-0. Matambre FC's Marciano Orland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo das Neves in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes of play, Banda Norte's Venerando Aguilar made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marciano Orland was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francisco Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prudencio Mateo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Banda Norte's Urbano Polo got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mario Lauren was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Venerando Aguilar in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marciano Orland saved Matambre FC from getting behind. Valdo das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Marciano Orland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venerando Aguilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Banda Norte's Urbano Polo got a free kick in the 70th minute. Prudencio Mateo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Duarte having to interfere. 2-2 became the score in the 76th minute when Venerando Aguilar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Matambre FC's Prudencio Mateo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Duarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th minute Prudencio Mateo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Duarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Prudencio Mateo's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. If Prudencio Mateo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
