In the 20th minute Constantino Onbera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Aurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Ismael Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peñico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Pirro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute Inocencio Odon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Abeita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niceto Abeita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inocencio Odon in the 33rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Zelaya AFC's Inocencio Odon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Niceto Abeita. That made the score 1-1 after 34 minutes of play. Niceto Abeita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Inocencio Odon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inocencio Odon to make the kick off. In the 77th minute, one of Peñico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peñico. The referee gave Zelaya AFC a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sebastian Cambranes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Peñico's Niceto Abeita. 5-1. Niceto Abeita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Castulo in the 92nd minute of play. Zelaya AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
