The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Hechter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Braulio Sidoro was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 7th minute Zula Cwojdak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Placido Ekain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quilmes A.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Ekain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Marco Basajaun took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Braulio Sidoro to make any attempt to save it. Mariano Inocente was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, C.A Alumni's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Ekain came free, but Arlindo Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arlindo Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zula Cwojdak, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Zula Cwojdak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Quilmes A.C. booed when C.A Alumni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Basajaun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arlindo Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zula Cwojdak in the 32nd minute of the match. Ladislao Orlondon charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ladislao Orlondon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of C.A Alumni:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Quilmes A.C.:s goal. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Quilmes A.C.. Placido Ekain stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arlindo Perez. 2-1. After a rather tough play, C.A Alumni's Ezequiel Hechter got a free kick in the 37th minute. C.A Alumni's Arlindo Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zula Cwojdak in the 40th minute of play. Placido Ekain hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Emanuel Nerio came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Braulio Sidoro could save by the left post. Ezequiel Hechter received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Braulio Sidoro came out and tried to block the shot, but Ezequiel Hechter slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zula Cwojdak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ezequiel Hechter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zula Cwojdak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Perez having to interfere. Ezequiel Hechter struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Braulio Sidoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A Alumni. Braulio Sidoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Nerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Hechter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Braulio Sidoro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Braulio Sidoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Hechter, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Emanuel Nerio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A Alumni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. If Zula Cwojdak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Hechter in the 78th minute of play forced Quilmes A.C.'s goalkeeper Braulio Sidoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Placido Ekain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Quilmes A.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! Braulio Sidoro went to the wrong direction when Ladislao Orlondon was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Quilmes A.C.'s Braulio Sidoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Hechter in the 85th minute of play. Braulio Sidoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Nerio in the 87th minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, C.A Alumni's Emanuel Nerio made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Braulio Sidoro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th match minute, Quilmes A.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt-Jürgen Martensen to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute of the match Ladislao Orlondon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Braulio Sidoro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
