After 5 played minutes, Jarpi's Ceferino Abajas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Santos Aguilera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jarpi reached it. With a little luck, Independiente de cordoba's Santos Aguilera got control of the ball when Matxin Campos tried to sneak it across the goal line. With 16 minutes on the clock, Adolfo Eufemio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Matxin Campos sped through Independiente de cordoba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santos Aguilera. In the 26th minute, Manuel Thomas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Independiente de cordoba's goalkeeper Santos Aguilera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matxin Campos. Santos Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliano Ixaka in the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

After 51 minutes, Carlos Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente de cordoba and the Jarpi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jarpi's Joel Arnalt was substituted for Adolfo Ruy. In the 52nd match minute, Independiente de cordoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Ruperto Chus charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Jarpi booed when Independiente de cordoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruperto Chus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Jarpi's Aureliano Ixaka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santos Aguilera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aureliano Ixaka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santos Aguilera came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Jarpi's Aureliano Ixaka. But to his dismay, Aureliano Ixaka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After 80 played minutes Independiente de cordoba got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Azevedo. The audience was convinced that Aureliano Ixaka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Aguilera was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 88th minute, Ramon Abar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Ixaka in the 94th minute of play forced Independiente de cordoba's goalkeeper Santos Aguilera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Aguilera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matxin Campos, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Jarpi were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Independiente de cordoba for a fine match.
