An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Jerold in the 13th minute of play forced Scorpion81's goalkeeper Isaias Rosario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Melquiades Ofelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Ursino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sparta FC's Ovidio Ursino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Ofelio in the 37th minute of play. Ovidio Ursino made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Melquiades Ofelio sent off a good shot on target. Ayoví Saro took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ovidio Ursino. Ovidio Ursino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After some careless play in the Scorpion81 defense, Nicasio Mirande kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaias Rosario. The Scorpion81 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaias Rosario should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zeledon Jerold to make the kick off. Isaias Rosario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicasio Mirande in the 54th minute of play. Scorpion81's Melquiades Ofelio got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zeledon Jerold could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Isaias Rosario made a huge save. In the 59th minute, Fidel Quirce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingos Baladi kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Scorpion81's Isaias Rosario proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Scorpion81 from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Sparta FC booed when Scorpion81 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ayoví Saro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Calistrat Toader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Policarpio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Isaias Rosario made a huge save. Isaias Rosario made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Jerold in the 86th minute. Zeledon Jerold took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isaias Rosario. Isaias Rosario dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4.
