He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iraizoz AFC reached it. Mauro Valentine's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedro Merexildo firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Vladimiro Erasto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ombú AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimiro Erasto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Merexildo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Iraizoz AFC's Pedro Merexildo got control of the ball when Mauro Valentine tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 27 minutes, Lucio Rey made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ombú AFC's Genaro Vellito tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Merexildo made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Mauro Valentine sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the match, Freddy Dalmu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ombú AFC's Genaro Vellito. Alejandro Chap sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ombú AFC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Arnaldo Cordarrell hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Leandro Urki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Merexildo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Valentine in the 57th minute of play forced Iraizoz AFC's goalkeeper Pedro Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mauro Valentine fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ombú AFC's protests and gave Mauro Valentine a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Mauro Valentine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Merexildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Urki in the 61st minute of the match. Pedro Merexildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 68 minutes, Mauro Valentine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ombú AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Valentine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78thth minute of the game Mauro Valentine who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iraizoz AFC's Pedro Merexildo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silas Figueiredo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes, Ombú AFC's Roman Sadurni shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Merexildo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Fabian Abadie charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Abadie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 played minutes Ombú AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Abadie. If Vladimiro Erasto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Valentine in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Merexildo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 95 minutes, Anselmo Frechoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iraizoz AFC and the Ombú AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Iraizoz AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Arnaldo Cordarrell hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The Ombú AFC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Iraizoz AFC to win.
