In the 15th minute Leszek Debkowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Ferran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualter Barros came free with the goalkeeper in the 16th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lázaro Ferran could save by the left post. Jorge Esteves hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Victorino Aballe kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. When Freddy Gilabert came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Deportivo Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Gilabert couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Real Saladillo CF's Lázaro Ferran threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leszek Debkowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 23 played minutes Real Saladillo CF got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Eskuin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Esteves in the 26th minute of play forced Real Saladillo CF's goalkeeper Conrado Kaxen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Pacorro hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Weston Dale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Lázaro Ferran made a huge save. Real Saladillo CF's Leszek Debkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Weston Dales short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Lázaro Ferran to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lázaro Ferran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualter Barros in the 43rd minute. Lázaro Ferran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leszek Debkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Weston Dale made a kick off. Lázaro Ferran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Merlo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Saladillo CF:s goal. There was no doubt that Real Saladillo CF were the better team. Real Saladillo CF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
