The referee gave Zeledon Lon a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Leubucó booed when Ciénega FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Lon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 minutes of play, Leubucó's Elvio Navarro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pablo Mincho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ciénega FC's Pablo Mincho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Txatxu in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Isaias Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Mincho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Henric in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Elvio Navarro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leubucó fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Pablo Mincho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Harri, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Pablo Mincho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Txatxu in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Ciénega FC's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Txatxu came free, but Pablo Mincho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Isaias Txatxu notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Ciénega FC's Pablo Mincho. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cirilo Sanson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Isaias Txatxu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pablo Mincho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elvio Navarro in the 63rd minute. Ciénega FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Tomás Harri scored to the left of an out of position Pablo Mincho, making the score, 0-5. Tomás Harri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Pablo Mincho made a huge save. 71 minutes into the match, Elvio Navarro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pablo Mincho, 0-6. In the 75th minute, Ciénega FC's Ramiro Guib seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ramiro Guib the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ciénega FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ramiro Guib had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 74th minute, one of Ciénega FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ciénega FC. In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Leubucó. Vicente Porfiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pablo Mincho. 0-7. 95 minutes into the match, Ciénega FC's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Txatxu came free, but Pablo Mincho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 99th minute Erasmo Gai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Leubucó left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ciénega FC.
