Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cleto Sidro kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Martin Laurgain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Urbano Argider showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleto Sidro in the 6th minute of the match. With a little luck, Newells Old Boys's Urbano Argider got control of the ball when Tadeo Saturnin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adolfo Paulin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoldo Porfirio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Madaleno. 22 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Cleto Sidro came free, but Urbano Argider reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urbano Argider stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cleto Sidro's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. If Tadeo Saturnin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Cleto Sidro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Urbano Argider. The goal made the score 2-0. Adolfo Paulin charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Paulin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Paulin. In the 35th minute, Tadeo Saturnin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Cleto Sidro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Urbano Argider. Cleto Sidro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Urbano Argider didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeo Saturnin went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Palomas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Fresco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Poncio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Porfirio having to interfere. In the 47th minute Cleto Sidro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urbano Argider saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Newells Old Boys's Urbano Argider played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Sidro in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Cleto Sidro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palomas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Sidro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Urbano Argider breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Tadeo Saturnin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Urbano Argider was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Cleto Sidro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urbano Argider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Sidro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes Palomas got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Fresco. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Palomas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeo Saturnin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Sidro might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Urbano Argider. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cleto Sidro ran back to his position shaking his head. When Cleto Sidro came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Palomas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleto Sidro couldn't finish the play. 79 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's Ivan Poncio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnoldo Porfirio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cleto Sidro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Argider having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cleto Sidro in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urbano Argider prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Newells Old Boys's Hipolito Madaleno got his second yellow card of the match in the 89th minute. The referee ordered Hipolito Madaleno off the ground. The supporters of Palomas booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Madaleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Sidro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Argider having to interfere. Urbano Argider showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeo Saturnin in the 94th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Palomas had played much better football throughout.
