Rafael Odilon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Plottier FC booed when Universidad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Stephen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Panpili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessandro Cesaroni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Teobaldo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Odilon might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teobaldo Stephen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Odilon ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Alessandro Cesaroni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobaldo Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Alessandro Cesaroni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universidad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Cesaroni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Universidad's Anier Panpili got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Celso Conrao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teobaldo Stephen came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Universidad's Alessandro Cesaroni. But to his dismay, Alessandro Cesaroni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 70 minutes into the match, Universidad's Anier Panpili sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teobaldo Stephen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Delmiro Dei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 played minutes Universidad got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Odilon. When Universidad's Alessandro Cesaroni in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Universidad's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Amaya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teobaldo Stephen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Cesaroni in the 90th minute of play forced Plottier FC's goalkeeper Teobaldo Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Universidad fully deserved thier win.
