Leonidas Panagakoglou's late challenge caught a Bumipunco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonidas Panagakoglou helped the player get up and apologised. Bumipunco's Norberto Bernad was substituted for Victor Tartalo. Leonidas Panagakoglou hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes Bumipunco got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Weterio. 7 minutes into the match, Mazán's Florentino Lluques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Inocencio Lorenz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arnulfo Maiorga was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bumipunco! Inocencio Lorenz had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Nereo Enetz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Miguel Erlantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Florentino Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberto Bernad scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melquiades Cordero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Mehmet Emrah Gencay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Erlantz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inocencio Lorenz having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mehmet Emrah Gencay made a kick off. Victorino Ekaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Florentino Lluques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inocencio Lorenz was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Afonso Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes Bumipunco got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Cruz. Raul Amor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melquiades Cordero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Emrah Gencay in the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Leonidas Panagakoglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inocencio Lorenz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melquiades Cordero was a little too slow when Mehmet Emrah Gencay got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Siro Elorri got free with Melquiades Cordero in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute of the match, Afonso Cruz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Melquiades Cordero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Justino Feo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Amor in the 87th minute of play forced Bumipunco's goalkeeper Inocencio Lorenz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melquiades Cordero was a little too slow when Norberto Bernad got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-3. Melquiades Cordero made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Mehmet Emrah Gencay sent off a good shot on target. The Bumipunco supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bumipunco would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
