The crowd rose to their feet as Minusas's Melchor Gilesindo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Inocencio Papo. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. Inocencio Papo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Jonatan Ubarna sent off a good shot on target. Jonatan Ubarna might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inocencio Papo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonatan Ubarna ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Gilesindo in the 37th minute of play forced FC Köln's goalkeeper Inocencio Papo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonatan Ubarna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Inocencio Papo made a huge save. If Melchor Gilesindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filomeno Lia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Melchor Gilesindo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonatan Ubarna kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. FC Köln's Inocencio Papo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Gilesindo in the 54th minute of play. Melchor Gilesindo scored 4-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Inocencio Papo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute, Melchor Gilesindo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filomeno Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inocencio Papo having to interfere. Inocencio Papo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Melchor Gilesindo's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Minusas's Melchor Gilesindo got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Melchor Gilesindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melchor Gilesindo in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inocencio Papo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Minusas's zone, Wilfredo Tulio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Dabi came out of the goal and Wilfredo Tulio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, FC Köln's goal looked a bit too open when Filomeno Lia came free, but Inocencio Papo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
