After having played for 39 minutes, Gerardo Furman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Furman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerardo Furman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Gonsalve having to interfere. Cristofer Acosta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Gonsalve read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerardo Furman made a kick off. After a rather tough play, C.A River Plate's Angelo Donzel got a free kick in the 51st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Ihintza in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andres Reyes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julian Ihintza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Andres Reyes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Federico Ekialde made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which 林斐明 however managed to control. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Ihintza got free with Andres Reyes in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, 林斐明 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rincón's supporters rose to their feet, but 林斐明 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andres Reyes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angelo Donzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedicto Gonsalve didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerardo Furman went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 69th minute Julian Ihintza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres Reyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Rincón booed when C.A River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristofer Acosta didn't get a good kick on the ball.
