Rogelio Erruki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gogo Aragones's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piet Brunelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Il Catenaccio getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Saverio Lluterio hit a great ball. In the 16th match minute, Il Catenaccio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erubiel Atauri to maneuver through the defense. Gogo Aragones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Emmanuel in the 24th minute of play forced La Naranja Mecanica's goalkeeper Lázaro Clemencin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ernesto Emmanuel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Il Catenaccio's Rogelio Erruki nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lázaro Clemencin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 39 minutes into the game, Ernesto Emmanuel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Lázaro Clemencin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Il Catenaccio's Ernesto Emmanuel in 46 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lázaro Clemencin guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 49th minute of the match Arnoldo Mikelar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lázaro Clemencin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonardo Gaskon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Evelio Bartolome ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Piet Brunelle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Piet Brunelle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Gonsalvo in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of La Naranja Mecanica booed when Il Catenaccio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Erruki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Gaskon hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Ernesto Emmanuel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Il Catenaccio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Emmanuel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Rogelio Erruki came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Il Catenaccio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Erruki couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the game, Edgardo Peter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Il Catenaccio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Naranja Mecanica the free kick. Piet Brunelle had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Santo Nayely's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Piet Brunelle came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by La Naranja Mecanica's Santo Nayely. But to his dismay, Santo Nayely quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 72nd minute of the match, Ernesto Emmanuel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lázaro Clemencin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jonatan Lluc got a throw-in 74 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Lisandro Lalla. With his leg Lázaro Clemencin managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Il Catenaccio's Ernesto Emmanuel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 76 minutes, Rogelio Erruki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Il Catenaccio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Erruki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lázaro Clemencin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rogelio Erruki in the 79th minute. Evelio Bartolome hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. La Naranja Mecanica's players were relieved. Evelio Bartolome was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jonatan Lluc took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 99th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Piet Brunelle. Il Catenaccio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Il Catenaccio were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing La Naranja Mecanica to leave the ground with a draw.
