Spectators: 7116 (Terracing: 5339, Seating: 1636, VIP seats: 141) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nunez Boni took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Merced booed when MTO Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Lucado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of MTO Fc:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merced:s goal. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Merced. Severiano Errolan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Desiderio Gartzea. 1-0. Merced's Gilberto Fanuco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Procopio in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Victor Quinton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gilberto Fanuco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carolo Fraco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Fanuco having to interfere. In the 16th minute Teodoro Pancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Fanuco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Quinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Merced getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carolo Mirande hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, Merced was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carolo Mirande to maneuver through the defense. Victor Quinton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Gilberto Fanuco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Victor Quinton managed to get in a good position for a shot. MTO Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Quinton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Fanuco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodoro Pancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Fanuco having to interfere. Gilberto Fanuco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carolo Fraco, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Carolo Fraco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Teodoro Pancho came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the MTO Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Pancho couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Pancho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lázaro Gaztea got free with Gilberto Fanuco in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victor Quinton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Fanuco having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Quinton in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Fanuco saved Merced from getting behind. Desiderio Gartzea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Leizarraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Merced's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Pancho came free, but Gilberto Fanuco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MTO Fc's Victor Quinton suffered a sore thigh after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Osvaldo Venceslao's late challenge caught a MTO Fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldo Venceslao helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merced! If Carolo Fraco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Merced's goalkeeper Gilberto Fanuco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carolo Fraco. Osvaldo Venceslao hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Merced's zone, Vladimiro Indalecio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Fanuco came out of the goal and Vladimiro Indalecio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Merced getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Feliberto Flores hit a great ball. MTO Fc played a much better game than Merced and deserved their victory. The Merced players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
