Spectators: 7079 (Terracing: 5311, Seating: 1628, VIP seats: 140) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nunez Boni kicked off to start the match. Nunez Boni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the El Leon Platense defense, Humberto Hanni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Oliviero. The El Leon Platense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Oliviero should have stopped the shot. Nunez Boni scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Oliviero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the match, Merced's goal looked a bit too open when Eustacio Bingen came free, but Gilberto Fanuco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Fanuco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustacio Bingen in the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Merced's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Joey came free, but Gilberto Fanuco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Fanuco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Bingen in the 33rd minute of play. Tomas Oliviero made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Humberto Hanni sent off a good shot on target. El Leon Platense's Geronimo Joey got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nunez Boni hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

After a rather tough play, Merced's Severiano Errolan got a free kick in the 56th minute. El Leon Platense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geronimo Joey in the 58th minute. The corner ended in Geronimo Joey almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Merced's Gilberto Fanuco did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Boni in the 59th minute of play forced El Leon Platense's goalkeeper Tomas Oliviero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Fanuco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustacio Bingen in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Merced's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geronimo Joey was slow to take the kick. During this time El Leon Platense's players had a chance to rest. El Leon Platense were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Merced's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Geronimo Joey took the corner. The corner ended in Romeo Meder almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Merced's Gilberto Fanuco did a great save. El Leon Platense's Tomas Oliviero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Boni in the 75th minute of play. With 77 minutes on the clock, Moises Quiroga commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of El Leon Platense:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merced:s goal. Merced's Gilberto Fanuco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Merced from getting a goal against them. 90 minutes into the match, El Leon Platense's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Boni came free, but Tomas Oliviero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Oliviero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Hanni in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Nunez Boni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merced fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. El Leon Platense's Tomas Oliviero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Boni in the 97th minute of play. El Leon Platense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
