Hernan Francho hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Gilberto Fanuco made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Aaron Reno sent off a good shot on target. Merced's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Aaron Reno scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Fanuco, making the score, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Frederico Goiano took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Gilberto Fanuco to make any attempt to save it. Gilberto Fanuco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 28 minutes, Aaron Reno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Nuñez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Reno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36thth minute of the game Frederico Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merced's Gilberto Fanuco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nunez Boni made a kick off. Defensores de Nuñez's Aaron Reno got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aaron Reno fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores de Nuñez's protests and gave Aaron Reno a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Merced booed when Defensores de Nuñez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Reno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frederico Goiano in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Fanuco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Merced defense, Aaron Reno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilberto Fanuco. The Merced fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilberto Fanuco should have stopped the shot. If Frederico Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristobal Bikendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Frederico Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gilberto Fanuco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frederico Goiano struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Gilberto Fanuco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensores de Nuñez. Aaron Reno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Merced's Gilberto Fanuco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristobal Bikendi in the 84th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Raimundo Maidana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 88 minutes of play, Merced's Martin Leizarraga made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Elixio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Martin Leizarraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Zeledon Elixio made a huge save. After having played for 93 minutes, Frederico Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Nuñez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederico Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristobal Bikendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Fanuco having to interfere.
