Ciriaco Mon was slow to take the kick. During this time Matambre AFC's players had a chance to rest. Hipolito Sergi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Haroldo Otsoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Raulo in the 21st minute of play. Leo Lucila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Esdras in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Emanuel Esdras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Lucila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Matambre AFC's goal looked a bit too open when German Dominic came free, but Leo Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leo Lucila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Cordareo in the 27th minute of play. Matambre AFC's Leo Lucila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Dominic in the 29th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Matambre AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! After having played for 39 minutes, Federico Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matambre AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Federico Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Esdras in the 44th minute of play forced Matambre AFC's goalkeeper Leo Lucila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Luisito Cordareo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Popa Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Cordareo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Lucila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luisito Cordareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 70th minute, Erubiel Ubarna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute Rene Raulo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Otsoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Raulo might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Otsoa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Raulo ran back to his position shaking his head. Leo Lucila was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Luisito Cordareo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luisito Cordareo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. In the 89th minute, German Dominic made a precise shot to the right of Leo Lucila. Matambre AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Thanks to some nice moves German Dominic could shoot a difficult shot in the 95th minute, which Leo Lucila however easily saved by the left post.
