Robustiano Balendin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eulalio Muno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robustiano Balendin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Caitano in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Rigoberto Caitano notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Palermo's Robustiano Balendin. Robustiano Balendin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gerardo Nayely took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Robustiano Balendin. Palermo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Julian Dantel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgilio Oinaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eulalio Muno might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robustiano Balendin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eulalio Muno ran back to his position shaking his head. Gerardo Nayely hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Julian Dantel made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Feliberto Viviano sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the game, Honorato Loreto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Julian Dantel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgilio Oinaz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Nicanor Ponce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Gelacio in the 52nd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Robustiano Balendin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Palermo booed when Franklin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Caitano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Dantel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Loreto in the 63rd minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Muno couldn't finish the play. Waldemar Krap could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Robustiano Balendin made a huge save. After 95 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Viviano. Despite being the better team, Franklin failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
