In the 8th minute, Raphael Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Mascota AFC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Mascota AFC's Armando Olo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ceferino Fiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Elorri having to make a save. Enrique Remir hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Donato Alfonso might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mario Elorri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Alfonso ran back to his position shaking his head. Armando Olo scored 2-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilberto Paulin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Polo in the 26th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Gilberto Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Montrelle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Cipriano Estefan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnulfo Polo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Donato Alfonso came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Alfonso couldn't finish the play. Gilberto Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Olo in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Alfonso got free with Mario Elorri in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Olo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Olo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute.
