With a left leg Carmelo Urtzi saved Ricardo E. Bochini from getting behind. Ricardo E. Bochini's Carmelo Urtzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isias Dacorrega in the 30th minute of play. Vinícius Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chuck Sosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carmelo Urtzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Chuck Sosa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Delmar Sol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Chuck Sosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Urtzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chuck Sosa in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carmelo Urtzi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th match minute, OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Cordario to maneuver through the defense.
