Tobar's Robustiano Cordario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Ferrando in the 14th minute of play. Cayetano Matai's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Gaspar Quintyn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Schalke 04's zone, Cayetano Matai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Quintyn came out of the goal and Cayetano Matai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eriberto Ferrando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Eriberto Ferrando notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tobar's Robustiano Cordario. Robustiano Cordario was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vicente Federigo charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Federigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Honorato Herensuge might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaspar Quintyn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Honorato Herensuge ran back to his position shaking his head. If Cayetano Matai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honorato Herensuge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Quintyn having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tobar had played much better football throughout.
