The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Ceibal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Sergi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Alfonso Oto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceibal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Oto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Txema stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feliberto Sergi's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Rolando Txema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliberto Sergi in the 22nd minute of the match. Alfonso Oto scored 2-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Txema, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliberto Sergi made a kick off. Feliberto Sergi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Rolando Txema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boca Juniors's Rolando Txema played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Oto in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Feliberto Sergi came free, but Rolando Txema reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boca Juniors's Rolando Txema played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliberto Sergi in the 73rd minute of play. When Rodolfo Rafe fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ceibal's protests and gave Rodolfo Rafe a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ceibal! Gaudencio Aballe had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping Emilio Silviano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Alfonso Oto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Txema. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Txema should have stopped the shot. Rolando Txema showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Oto, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Feliberto Sergi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Txema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Sergi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ceibal walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
