The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mircea Mândru struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. In the 21st minute, Mircea Mândru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huaco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 24th minute Mircea Mândru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Sasoin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Joel Sasoin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Tauno Mäntylä sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joel Sasoin. In the 45th minute Mircea Mândru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Sasoin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Huaco's José Vítor do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifacio Cutberto in the 59th minute of play. Leonides Edur hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Mircea Mândru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Sasoin having to interfere. Venezuela's Joel Sasoin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tauno Mäntylä in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Mircea Mândru fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tauno Mäntyläs short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Joel Sasoin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Joel Sasoin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Mândru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albano Azeari kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Mircea Mândru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Tauno Mäntylä kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joel Sasoin. That made the score 0-4 in the 87 minute of play. When Zacarias Oidor fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Zacarias Oidor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Oidor to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Huaco's Mircea Mândru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Sasoin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Albano Azeari hit a great ball. 0-5 became the score in the 97th minute when Mircea Mândru elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Huaco played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
