A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Crystal Palace's Salvador San Martín got a free kick in the 10th minute. Salvador San Martín received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Silvano Piorno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Salvador San Martín had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavio Gartxot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Piorno having to interfere. When Bakary Sagna fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crystal Palace's protests and gave Bakary Sagna a yellow card for diving instead. Leopoldo Rufio charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Rufio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute of the match Vyacheslav Bykaniv shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvano Piorno showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Salvador San Martín made a precise shot to the right of Silvano Piorno. Trenel FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Octavio Gartxot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Piorno having to interfere. After some careless play in the Trenel FC defense, Salvador San Martín kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvano Piorno. The Trenel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvano Piorno should have stopped the shot. After the first half Crystal Palace were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salvador San Martín to make the kick off. After having played for 63 minutes, Isaias Roland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trenel FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Roland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salvador San Martín recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Trenel FC booed when Crystal Palace was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Vistruario didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavio Gartxot was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Crystal Palace's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 90 minutes into the match, Trenel FC's goalkeeper Silvano Piorno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvador San Martín. Salvador San Martín fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Piorno having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, Trenel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmacio Abadia to maneuver through the defense. When Salvador San Martín came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Crystal Palace fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador San Martín couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Crystal Palace had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
