The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Portugalete's Bernardino Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Maria in the 9th minute of play. Fabricio Jayvier scored 0-4 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardino Carlomagno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armindo Aguiar made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Eusebio Ralondo put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Eleuterio Martxot. Valentin Maria hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the game, one of Estudiantes LP:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Portugalete a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ismael Llorenc, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Estudiantes LP's Eleuterio Martxot. 2-4. Lino Tab struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Bernardino Carlomagno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estudiantes LP. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Maria in the 70th minute of play forced Portugalete's goalkeeper Bernardino Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Isaias Janpier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugalete and the Estudiantes LP players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eleuterio Martxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Aguiar in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Fabricio Jayvier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardino Carlomagno was a little too slow when Valentin Maria got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 3-5. 94 minutes into the match, Estudiantes LP's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Feliz came free, but Eleuterio Martxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Timoteo Etxeberri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Estudiantes LP players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
