Spectators: 6628 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1628, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aquiles Diaz started the match with the kick off. If Rodolfo Maxin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustacio Chayo's late challenge caught a Merced's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustacio Chayo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cuchilla getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Eustacio Chayo hit a great ball. In the 8th minute of the match Gogo Nikola sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alejo Gitano skillfully saved the ball. Eustacio Chayo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Alejo Gitano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Diaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 13th play minute Julio Shepherd came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lino Kimetz. 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Merced's goalkeeper Lino Kimetz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julio Shepherd. In the 17th minute, Teodoro Navarro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lino Kimetz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Shepherd in the 21st minute. When Julio Shepherd came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Cuchilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Shepherd couldn't finish the play. Lino Kimetz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Navarro in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Merced's Serafino Mercurio got a free kick in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Cuchilla's Isaias Kelemen broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Julio Shepherd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Lino Kimetz made a huge save. After 35 minutes of play, Merced's Rodolfo Maxin made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alejo Gitano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lino Kimetz made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Julio Shepherd sent off a good shot on target. In the 48thth minute of the game Teodoro Navarro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merced's Lino Kimetz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teodoro Navarro to strike the kick off in the second half. When Julio Shepherd came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Cuchilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Shepherd couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Julio Shepherd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lino Kimetz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Merced's Lino Kimetz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Shepherd in the 60th minute of play. Aquiles Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Alejo Gitano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eustacio Chayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lino Kimetz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodoro Navarro's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. The supporters of Cuchilla booed when Merced was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafino Mercurio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alonzo Florian kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Cuchilla's Julio Shepherd got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Merced getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Serafino Mercurio hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the game, Abelardo Estefan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merced's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuchilla the free kick. Abelardo Estefan kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Julio Shepherd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cuchilla's Julio Shepherd got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Julio Shepherd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Kimetz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Shepherd in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Merced getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Serafino Mercurio hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Merced defense, Julio Shepherd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lino Kimetz. The Merced fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lino Kimetz should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Cuchilla players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
