Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Celestino Lazcano started the match with the kick off. Bernardo Gentza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Lazcano, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Bernardo Gentza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Manex in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Vero herrera defense, Celestino Lazcano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Gentza. The Vero herrera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Gentza should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Lazcano in the 21st minute of play forced Vero herrera's goalkeeper Bernardo Gentza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Vero herrera's Bernardo Gentza got control of the ball when Celestino Lazcano tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Vero herrera's Conrado Ramond sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Humberto Gartxot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardo Gentza came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Celestino Lazcano. But to his dismay, Celestino Lazcano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Laureano Manex took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Bernardo Gentza to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice moves Aurelio Velasco could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Bernardo Gentza however easily saved by the left post. In the 43rd minute Artemio Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Gentza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardo Gentza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Lazcano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Melquiades Javiero made the kick off in the second half. Vero herrera's Bernardo Gentza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celestino Lazcano in the 51st minute of play. Daniel Theodore hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Bernardo Gentza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celestino Lazcano went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute Conrado Ramond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vero herrera getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Marcelino Rito hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Celestino Lazcano made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Gentza. Vero herrera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestino Lazcano in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Gentza saved Vero herrera from getting behind. In the 87th minute Alvaro Bide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Gentza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Gartxot was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Melquiades Javiero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Melquiades Javiero really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. In the 92nd minute, Celestino Lazcano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1.
