After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Alejandro Dodorol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vicente Izotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vicente Izotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Cresconio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mecoyita's Fausto Neto got a free kick in the 13th minute. Gerardo Adrio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Izotz having to interfere. Alejandro Dodorol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edelmiro Lon hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mecoyita's zone, Gervasio Cresconio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Izotz came out of the goal and Gervasio Cresconio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edelmiro Lon's late challenge caught a CUBA FENIX FC®'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edelmiro Lon helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mecoyita's Edelmiro Lon got a free kick in the 27th minute. CUBA FENIX FC®'s Julio Chucho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Artizar in the 29th minute of play. Gervasio Cresconio might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Izotz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gervasio Cresconio ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Chucho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Artizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Mecoyita's goalkeeper Vicente Izotz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gervasio Cresconio. Vicente Izotz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Isias went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gervasio Cresconio was the one to do the kick off. Vicente Izotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Cresconio in the 53rd minute of the match. Gervasio Cresconio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Vicente Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Mecoyita got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Salbatore. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervasio Cresconio in the 57th minute of play forced Mecoyita's goalkeeper Vicente Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mecoyita booed when CUBA FENIX FC® was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Isias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raimundo Artizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiliano Isias charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiliano Isias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, CUBA FENIX FC® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Isias to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute Raimundo Artizar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Chucho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vicente Izotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervasio Cresconio, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Gervasio Cresconio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Vicente Izotz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Gutxi got free with Julio Chucho in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Mecoyita getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Leonides Gaskon hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Gervasio Cresconio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Izotz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Edelmiro Lon hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Gervasio Cresconio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Vicente Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emiliano Isias took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vicente Izotz. Vicente Izotz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Emiliano Isias hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. CUBA FENIX FC®'s Alejandro Dodorol got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CUBA FENIX FC® walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
