In the 10th minute Pastor Orlanda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xzavion Villapadierna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Juan Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoni Kostrzewa in the 15th minute of play forced ClubAtléticoBocaJuniors's goalkeeper Urbano Lizardi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ClubAtléticoBocaJuniors getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Constantino Haritzeder hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Valerio got free with Urbano Lizardi in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Urbano Lizardi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentino Arano in the 54th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Constantino Haritzeder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xzavion Villapadierna was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game.
