An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Lekubegi in the 12th minute of play forced Garnicas Futbol Club's goalkeeper Hilario Lizbeth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Grabiel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hilario Lizbeth having to make a save. Teo Lekubegi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Yocán's Camilo Bilbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Gonsalvo in the 19th minute of play. Desiderio Chuan might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hilario Lizbeth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Desiderio Chuan ran back to his position shaking his head. Teo Lekubegi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. In the 35th minute Rigoberto Gonsalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Bilbo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Yocán's Desiderio Chuan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hilario Lizbeth. Hilario Lizbeth yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rigoberto Gonsalvo to make the kick off. Camilo Bilbo came out of the goal and Rigoberto Gonsalvo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Txatxu's late challenge caught a Yocán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Txatxu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Yocán booed when Garnicas Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Txatxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hilario Lizbeth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Lekubegi in the 93rd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Garnicas Futbol Club players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Yocán.
