Universitario F.C.R's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ToCoTaN FC the free kick. In the 16th minute, Eustaquio Demesio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Candido Dayam got free with Guillermo Burni in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pablo Piarres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benito Cesaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Ubaldo Esdras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leonides Froylan came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Universitario F.C.R fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Froylan couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Universitario F.C.R booed when ToCoTaN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seçkin Çinuçin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Candido Dayam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universitario F.C.R's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Dayam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benito Cesaro in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Piarres saved Universitario F.C.R from getting behind. Pablo Piarres came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by ToCoTaN FC's Benito Cesaro. But to his dismay, Benito Cesaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Benito Cesaro made the kick off in the second half. Teodosio Soin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes in the game Eugenio Jesco did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eustaquio Demesio. If Leonides Froylan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
