Chantas's Bert Kruijs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braulio Lauren in the 17th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Fabian Edur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chantas and the BOCA JUNIORS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Chantas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Edur to maneuver through the defense. Chantas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneliu Muscă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Chantas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than BOCA JUNIORS throughout the match.
