Nicolas Blandi dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 14 played minutes Ojito AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Guillen. After having played for 15 minutes, Iván Sotomayor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iván Sotomayor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Reno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iván Sotomayor in the 18th minute of the match. Nicolas Blandi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Julio Reno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 21 minutes on the clock, Saffet Hayırlı commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 22nd match minute, San Lorenzo de Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saffet Hayırlı to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Orlo in the 24th minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Almagro's goalkeeper Virgilio Cilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ojito AFC's Julio Reno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iván Sotomayor in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Nicolas Blandi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rdth minute of the game Iván Sotomayor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ojito AFC's Julio Reno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iván Sotomayor was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Nicolas Blandi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Reno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when Ojito AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Orlo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Iván Sotomayor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Reno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iván Sotomayor in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Reno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Reno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iván Sotomayor in the 96th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San Lorenzo de Almagro fully deserved thier win.
