Spectators: 6634 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1634, VIP seats: 0) Guaberto Onbera started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 11th minute Guaberto Onbera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Lope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Guillermo Berbiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iglesia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Berbiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Iglesia's zone, Guaberto Onbera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Lope came out of the goal and Guaberto Onbera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dedê de Godoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Martxel in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Martxel in the 41st minute of play forced Tacuaruzú's goalkeeper Dedê de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Iglesia booed when Tacuaruzú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Cordarrel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Guillermo Berbiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedê de Godoy. Tacuaruzú's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guillermo Berbiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Guillermo Berbiz made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Severino Martxel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dedê de Godoy. Severino Martxel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Tacuaruzú's Dedê de Godoy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Tacuaruzú from getting a goal against them. Guaberto Onbera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guaberto Onbera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Lope having to interfere. In the 71st minute Guillermo Berbiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê de Godoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Iglesia's goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Onbera came free, but Rogelio Lope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Severino Martxel notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Tacuaruzú's Dedê de Godoy. Dedê de Godoy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guillermo Muc charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Muc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 85 played minutes Iglesia got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Muc. Rogelio Lope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Astigar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dedê de Godoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Bernat in the 91st minute of play. When Marcial Astigar came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Tacuaruzú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Astigar couldn't finish the play. Dedê de Godoy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prudencio Bernat in the 95th minute. Dedê de Godoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Berbiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
