Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luis Bitxintxo made the kick off which started today's match. Felipe Brion made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosendo Francho in the 5th minute. Leonides Santiago might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felipe Brion. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Santiago ran back to his position shaking his head. Serafino Viator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosendo Francho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Brion having to interfere. When Serafino Viator came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the C.A. BANFIELD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafino Viator couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosendo Francho got free with Felipe Brion in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonides Santiago in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felipe Brion prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Prudencio Nofre got free with Felipe Brion in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Isaac Karmel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th match minute, Werder Bremen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Normando to maneuver through the defense. Leonides Santiago had several of the Werder Bremen's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Felipe Brion as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Werder Bremen's zone, Serafino Viator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Brion came out of the goal and Serafino Viator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvestre Normando hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Gualterio Victoro hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, C.A. BANFIELD's Serafino Viator dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After a rather tough play, C.A. BANFIELD's Leonides Santiago got a free kick in the 41st minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Werder Bremen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! Rosendo Francho shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Santiago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Werder Bremen's zone, Rosendo Francho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Brion came out of the goal and Rosendo Francho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Santiago in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felipe Brion saved Werder Bremen from getting behind. Rolando Gaskon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Felipe Brion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Karmel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ariel Rudolfo came out and tried to block the shot, but Isaac Karmel slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 63rd minute. In the 70th minute of the match, Isaac Karmel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ariel Rudolfo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Rosendo Francho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonides Santiago might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felipe Brion. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Santiago ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the game, C.A. BANFIELD's Serafino Viator nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felipe Brion made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 80th match minute, C.A. BANFIELD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Froila to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Efrain Jakobe in the 81st minute really tested Ariel Rudolfo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Serafino Viator blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felipe Brion having to make a save. Felipe Brion didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafino Viator went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Felipe Brion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Santiago in the 89th minute of the match. If Leonides Santiago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Rosendo Francho managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. BANFIELD's supporters rose to their feet, but Rosendo Francho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Brion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of C.A. BANFIELD booed when Werder Bremen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Bitxintxo didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.A. BANFIELD fully deserved thier win.
